I think it started after I reset the lock when I moved in and changed the passcode and made it "mine". I reached out to the old owner, she wasn't a ton of help but I asked her if she had to change the batteries that frequently and she said "hmm, no that doesn't seem right" (better than no information I suppose) so my suspicion is that it is a wifi - software issue rather a physical one. Use the Nest App and unlock your doors from anywhere and know whos at your door. Oh yeah! I should also mention, I inherited this lock when I bought my house.
